Definition of a Parishioner
For St. Leo's, a parishioner is
one who embraces and supports our mission "as a parish within the Archdiocese of
Newark... to be a community that is visible, caring and supportive.
Nourished in the Eucharist and sustained by the Word of God, we go forth into
the world to act with justice, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with God."
The following
criteria are required of all school families who seek a tuition discount:
Register as a parishioner
Regular Sunday Mass participation
Use of Parish collection envelopes for at least 75% of of the Sundays of the year (no specific dollar amount is stipulated)
Faithful stewardship of time, talent and treasure to support St. Leo's Parish.
Finances of St. Leo's School
The operational costs of running St. Leo's school are paid for through the following sources:
Tuition and Fees
Which are determined based on the projected student enrollment and estimated
fund raising. The Technology Maintenance Fee is to cover internet,
hardware and software and their related updates, security and supplies.
Fees payable at registration:
Registration Fee
$110 per family ($200 after May 11)
Books
$90 per child
Technology
$300 per family
HSA Obligation
$30 Paid separately from above via check or cash.
This fee covers HSA dues and Yard Duty personnel.
Each family must schedule their Parish Festival
obligation in order to complete the registration process.
A 3%
discount is offered on TUITION if paid in full at registration.
Fundraising by the Home
School Association (HSA)
The school receives on half of the total income
from the annual Parish Festival and Raffle. All families must
participate.
All proceeds from scheduled fundraising events throughout the year are
used for the school and HSA functions. These fundraisers are voluntary
and all families are encouraged to support them.
Fundraising keeps the cost of tuition reasonable and annual increases at a modest level. Please support fundraising efforts!
Payment Terms and Conditions
Tuition payments will be deducted on the 5th OR 20th of each month, beginning in June and ending in April.
A $25 charge will be assessed for any returned or incomplete payments.
At registration, all families are required to sign a contract and authorization form agreeing to automatic withdrawals from a checking account. A voided check will also be required. (For any divorce or custody situations, a separate contract and authorization form will be required of each party.)
